IAT-410 PROGRESS FROM OCTOBER 16-23
WHAT A WEEK. Well our team and I had a meeting before class (October 23 2007) and figured out the artist aspects of the game (I am in charge of the art). We started going through the entire game and figured out as a group what we need for characters, tanks, guns, and machines. We started off with a list of approximately 30 pieces and narrowed it down to 20 or so. However, since there are two teams in our game, the total double to 40. In our turn based strategy, we need approximately different 40-50 sprites. These include soldiers, tanks, planes, guns, and other army/war related elements. I was astonished to realize all the work that needs to be done and all the work I am responsible for. The rest of my team is doing a great job, the project manager, Mo, is always on top of everything. The end of semester grind is coming up, a lot of work needs to be done. Hopefully we can “strike while the iron is hot” and continually work while progressing to beta. For next week, we have decided that I come up with approximately one third of the sprites and show them to the rest of the team. We will need to implement the characters into the game next week to get a general idea of how big each sprite should be and this will also lead to finding out what resolution would work best for this game.
